CHINA WITH A TOUCH OF BRITISH SOPHISTICATION
So many people in so little space. Hong Kong can be quite overwhelming. The skyscrapers sure are impressive, but I can’t imagine it being very pleasant to live here.
Still, I had an incredible time in Hong Kong. This was one of my first trips alone, and my first time in Asia. I think this is where my wanderlust kicked off for good.
Although Hong Kong seems like a concrete urban jungle, it’s built on a foundation of Chinese tradition and imported British culture. It’s clear, when you look at these photos, that that’s where my interest was during this trip. The combination of modern culture and the dynamic street life left a deeper impression on me after a few than the month I spent in New Zealand right after.
