Istanbul

when the light hits the bosporus

Istanbul is a photographer’s dream. The light is just so incredibly beautiful: the way it accentuates the little alleyways, how it bathes the Bosporus in gold, the things it does to the smoke from the chestnut stalls.. You simply can’t go to Istanbul and not come home with some beautiful shots.

It’s a bit of a chewed up cliché to mention the meeting of West and East, but here I go: it’s true. There’s a real sense of Western and Eastern culture meeting up in this magical city. At one point you feel like you’re thoroughly in Asia with its markets and minarets and the smell of spices. The next moment, you’re drinking a cocktail in a bar that might as well have been in London or New York.
